    • IDEAL FOR GOLD, SILVER, & OTHER PRECIOUS METALS REFINING
    • Brand New Sealed - 1 Liter (33.8 Ounces = 1.06 US Quart) • Patented Polymer, Acid-Resistant, DOT-Approved Break-proof Safety Bottle
WE SHIP IN SAFE AND LEGAL PACKAGING IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL D.O.T. AND STATE LAWS AND CARRIER REQUIREMENTS.
NOTE: WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE'VE UPGRADED TO PATENTED
STATE-OF-THE-ART BREAK-PROOF POLYMER BOTTLES AND GERMAN LEAK-PROOF CORROSION-PROOF SAFETY CAPS!
These new STATE-OF-THE-ART bottle/cap sets cost us over 4x more than cheap unsafe common soda-lime amber glass bottles, but they are 100x BETTER!
THESE ARE NOT ORDINARY HDPE BOTTLES, WHICH BREAK DOWN IN CONTACT WITH CONCENTRATED NITRIC ACID!
    Here's why:
Glass is DANGEROUS. Our new patented, acid-resistant polymer bottles are SAFE
Breaking or leakage in transit is now IMPOSSIBLE
    with these new bottles
A full bottle can be dropped from 15 feet directly onto concrete, and it won't break, crack, or leak. Try that with glass!
Non reactive polymer won't leach heavy metals into the acid. Cheap bottle glass DOES leach heavy metals
Soda-lime glass is an 18th Century technology. These new nitric resistant polymer bottles are 21st Century technology
No more glass-related nitric acid lab accidents! No need to store the bottles in special catch bins
No need for elaborate stainless steel cans filled with vermiculite (the
    packaging
mandated by the US Department of Transportation when shipping nitric acid in GLASS). Polymer bottles themselves cost more but COST FAR LESS TO PACKAGE, and so the costs shift from the packaging, which gets tossed, to far superior bottles, where it does you the most good! The total net cost of each system (bottle + D.O.T. packaging) is about the same, so this upgrade is truly a win-win for us and for our customers.
    Ordinary HDPE is NOT DOT-approved
because it is unsuitable and unsafe for concentrated nitric acid. Common HDPE turns yellow, becomes brittle, and can leak or break without warning.
Some people assume glass must be okay because glass is used in every laboratory, but that's a mistake. Lab glass is expensive
    borosilicate
glass. Glass bottles are made from cheap
    soda-lime
glass. You won't find nitric acid sold in borosilicate glass bottles because it would be way too expensive, and no one would pay for it. Aside from the obvious dangers associated with glass, soda-lime glass also leaches heavy metals into nitric acid, and this will contaminate your process. There are scientific papers on this. You can look it up.
